With more than 20 years of percussion performance and teaching experience, Adam delivers the exceptional musicianship and thoughtful education that your band or students deserve.
Adam Rhan developed his distinctive sound and teaching philosophy at a young age, driven by a lifelong love of drums and percussion.
Adam has studied drum set and percussion with renowned educators and performers including Peter Erskine, Dave DiCenso, Benjamin Toth, and Michael Burritt. He has had the privilege of performing with Bryan Davis, Scott Mullet, the Cotton Club All Star Band, and others. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Percussion Performance from Keene State College, studying under Christopher Swist, Amy Garapic, and Murray Mast. During his time at Keene, Adam coached and conducted chamber ensembles, premiered numerous percussion ensemble works, and was awarded Musician of the Year.
Following his undergraduate studies, Adam was accepted into the Hartt School of Music’s Graduate Percussion Program. Under the direction of Benjamin Toth, he received both a Talent Scholarship and Teaching Assistantship. Adam further developed his teaching skills by instructing undergraduate percussion students in small and large ensemble settings. He also expanded his performance experience across Classical, Steel Pan, Middle Eastern, West African, and Jazz traditions.
Today, Adam teaches at Ted Herbert’s Music School in Manchester, New Hampshire, and is a contracted musician for C Poole Music Productions.
